“ It is absolutely amazing and will definitely come back the next time I am in Melbourne. The staff were kind and explained the coffee menu and gave recommendations. Both the milk and black coffees were great. Among the three of us, we had a filtered coffee, a regular milk coffee, and an alternative milk coffee. All tasted great. Definitely commend them for the milk coffee as we were able to distinguish the taste and hints still. The experience was made even better with the beautiful pastries that had excellent flavours and textures. An extra plus for the cute vibes and the heaters at the seats making it cozy. ”

“ Oh man, this is a coffee bar that I have been wanting to visit for months! Finally did it. The fit out is amazing. The coffee as expected was delicious (Michael the owner/roaster) is a very humble and knowledgeable man. We had a long chat which I really enjoyed. Unfortunately I couldn't meet his wife(danni) as she was very busy in the kitchen preparing pastries. The pastries were delicious, both sweet & savoury! The ladies working behind the bar were very welcoming and bubbly. I cannot fault a thing about the place at all. Maybe 1 thing, it was a bit cold inside but that is due to the roller door being opened. I did notice there are heaters but it was too late to ask as I was about to leave anyway. Very highly recommended to anybody that enjoys high quality coffee and pastries. ”

“ Honestly this place is just the best. The cold brew is delicious and has a slight understated sparkle to it which matches the vibe and staff. Everyone is genuinely so lovely and it’s clear that they care so deeply not only about coffee, but small business, sustainability, community and care. I bring my own jar and they stock me up on ground beans for what I’m feeling at the time. No problem to chat me through their offering and grinding to what I need it for. The snacks cabinet is a constant temptation and it’s so great to get a peek of Dani toiling away in the kitchen. Michael’s roasting is sensational as is his dry wit and willingness to help. Overall I couldn’t be happier that they are a neighbourhood mainstay. The reviews in here that are talking about poor customer service or some frankly weird entitled rants are clearly from unsexy people who live nothing more than being mean to hospo staff. Also these people can head over to Brunswick proper, we don’t behave like this in Brunswick East. Love to Michael, Dani and all the Core Roasting crew. ”

“ core is my favourite spot for a coffee and little treat (i LOVE the tiramisu cookies). I live close by and am always very sad when I have a day off on a monday/tuesday and I have to go somewhere else. The space is cool, relaxing and different and you can tell that every coffee and pastry are made with love every step of the process… the quality is exceptional. I came here for the tea after your recent instagram post about saying no and felt compelled to leave my own review to let your know i’m obsessed with the replies to all the Karens in the reviews as well as your business. Dani and Michael have created something very special, and the coffee and pastry (and other options) are simply off the chain. Always exceptional and inventive in quality, and delivered with clear and friendly service. They have built a wonderful community which they celebrate and are also not afraid to stand up for.
